WATCH: Wisconsin Democratic Party chair’s ominous message on late night ballots

By John Zambenini on Nov 05, 2024

Joining other key swing states to expect delayed election results, Wisconsin Democratic Party chair Ben Wikler is greasing the skids for results to be unavailable in Wisconsin this evening.

Wikler called the expected results a “red mirage,” and said he anticipated a “blue shift when [absentee ballots] are introduced to add to the totals, and that could be in the middle of the night. It certainly was in 2020.”

Wikler said official results in Wisconsin wouldn’t be available until counted in a central facility, even though citizens would see 100% of precincts reporting. But the results, he told MSNBC, would not be official until later that night.

In a throwback to 2020, Wikler said absentee ballots would be “heavily weighted” toward Harris.

As election integrity has become again the watchword of 2024, Democrat and media messaging on the rollout of election results tonight has again begun to prime the narrative for delayed results and late night ballots.

Time Magazine ominously declared the 2020 election was secure, though “fortified,” and now Democrats and media are again shaping messaging around a Harris victory.

Even according to UN Human Rights Commission standards for free and fair elections, 2020 failed by some measures.

The standards call for independent observers, including campaign officials, to be able to monitor all aspects of the casting and counting of ballots, as well as the right to appeal unfair or unlawful aspects of elections. Strikingly, some suits pertaining to 2020 were dismissed on standing, not merit.

Can citizens be sure elections are free, fair, and transparent?

The Trump organization says it has over 500 lawyers in every state in addition to thousands of poll watchers — and this time, the RNC seems to have embraced former President Donald Trump’s calls for the party to do its due diligence in watching the polls.

RNC Chair Michael Whatley said Republican poll watchers in eight critical Pennsylvania counties were turned away from monitoring elections in those counties, but that GOP lawyers ensured access to monitoring Pennsylvania polls.

Nevertheless, more glitches with voting machines have cropped up in Cambria County with votes apparently not counting and machines needing updated “flash drives.”

A judge has ruled Cambria County polls will remain open late to account for the glitch.

Meanwhile, in Maricopa County, Arizona, officials announced today more than 27,000 mail-in ballots arrived with mismatched signatures. More than half have been resolved, though 12,000 remain outstanding.

Regardless of who prevails in the polls tonight, it is evident that confidence is lacking in U.S. elections and must be restored.
